Abstract
The aim of this chapter is to try and outline the major trends that would seem to be involved today in the treatment of the gender equality issue in our collective bargaining, which is being profoundly affected by the serious financial situation which our country is going through.
One of these first consequences is, to be precise, the devaluation itself that is taking place in the treatment of this issue in conventional quarters and which is being observed above all as a result of the analyses carried out on agreements approved in recent months. This devaluation takes different forms, as we will get the chance to learn about over the following pages, but which ultimately lead to the same outcome - and that is the increase in inequalities between men and women on our job market.
The major challenge facing our collective bargaining will therefore involve ensuring that the issue of gender equality ends up playing the genuinely important role that corresponds to it as a cross-sectional issue that needs to inform about the full regulations offered by our collective bargaining.
