Abstract

Since the second half of the twentieth century the importance of the spatial ability in teaching-learning mathematics has been emphasized, especially in geometry, so many researchers have focused on its study. However, due to the diversity of definitions and concepts associated with such ability, it is not easy to set up a solid model to represent it. In this paper a theoretical model is pro- posed, empirically tested, that allows to evaluate the spatial ability of the students of Childhood Edu- cation in order to offer them an individualized attention. Based on the established model, the possible differences between girls and boys in spatial ability are also analyzed, so common in the literature re- lated to this topic.
