Abstract

Human communication is a complex process involving much more than knowledge and use of a linguistic system: the efficacy of any communicative act depends, to a greater or lesser extent, on the use of non–verbal signs in combination or joint construction with verbal ones. This proven fact is of great importance in such pragmatic discursive phenomena as persuasion, which may be associated directly with the strategic employment of non-verbal resources. This article deals with the use of kinesic signs in Spanish persuasive discourse in the corporate and business worlds.
