Abstract
With the arrival of the Internet and having to compete with several anonymous sources in real time, all the media are being forced to offer a more detailed, framed, deeper type of information. The opinion journalism, as a genre, has been strengthened by these trends. Research among 13 Spanish network groups (El País, El Mundo, Público, La Razón, ABC, Onda Cero, COPE, Punto Radio, Cadena Ser, TVE-1, Telecinco, Cuatro and Antena3) shows that opinion is monopolized by a reduced number of journalists, that it is highly overrated and overpriced and that it is led by men.
