Abstract
The present article tries to examine the role that television played in relation with the different vision devices that had been going configuring the history of the images. It will center mainly in the reception apparatuses, comparing them with the perceptive conditions of theirs predecessors, this is, those that are parts of what has become to be called mechanical image. The aim that these examinations pursue is to state to what point television supposed the continuation or the perfection of previous optical devices, always in connection with the way the observer had been got involved with them.
