Abstract

This article aims to know the conditions under which journalists should deal with the medical issues of professional athletes. To achieve the objective, a qualitative methodology is used, starting with a search for the normative and jurisprudence documents that affect the subject. An analysis of thematic content is applied to draw references to the right to privacy of medical data and the right to sports information. The results make it possible to identify the criteria to be weighed in the event of conflict between both rights and highlight the desirability of promoting a policy of disclosure of information.
