Abstract
Spanish citizens continue to show a certain resistance towards the use of new information technologies, and specially towards the use of Internet-related technologies. Although, there is an increasing number of people who already use them, data show that more than half of the Spanish population does not have an Internet connection at home. The use of geographical criteria has been very useful from a methodological point of view to analyze which factors determine the regular use of such technologies. This research has been sponsored by the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos and the regional Government of Madrid. It aims to identify the variables that affect –and how– the usage of Internet in Spain.
