Abstract
The cinema, as mass media, reflects and propagates values present in the reality even in the genres that, in appearance, move away more of it. The present article proposes a cataloguing and study of the American productions of the fantastic film genre that, throughout century XXI, have echo of a political, social and ethical situation specially influenced by the attacks of the 11 of September of 2001 and its later consequences. The analysis investigates, in addition, in the sources that use films to create sensations of restlessness and fear.
