Abstract
This article is based on the main conclusions of the thesis defended in the University of the Basque Country (UPV-EHU) Study of the media of scientific information in the reference press: the Spanish case from a comparative analysis. The work has two great parts mainly. On the one hand, a theoretical approach to the phenomenon of the scientific media and the spreading, and by another one, a quantitative and qualitative analysis of three news (Cold Fusion, Dolly sheep and Atapuerca) appeared in La Vanguardia, El País, El Correo, Le Monde, The Times and The New York Times.
