Abstract
The identity of transsexual men and women continues posing difficulties in journalistic writing due to the shortage of studies devoted to this question from the communication field. This article, based on the analysis of a real case found in the newspapers from Valencia, tries to offer a reflection on the most frequent problems that a journalist faces when trying to write about transsexual people. The research presents, as an annex, some guidelines that might help journalists represent those who are part of a group victim of discrimination in an ethical and responsible way.
