Abstract

In this article we present the most important conclusions from the quantitative research of the conventional radio programming strategies. This paper attempts to comparatively analyse programming palimpsests in four Spanish broadcasting stations (SER, Onda Cero, RNE 1 y COPE), especially on their programmes across the country. It is observed an unquestionable hegemony of a direct confrontation policy. For example, in all cases, three broadcasts dominate, those which provide Information, Information/Entertainment and Sport. As a result, we may conclude that Spanish public service broadcasting, RNE 1, has not a different programming from the broadcasting companies.
