Abstract

This article examines the main paths followed in the last years by the American narrative cinema to renew the romantic comedy, a genre characterized in this period by its mediocrity and its lack of risk. The dissident comedies of this time can be divided in three trends: grossout comedies, retro movies and "indie" comedies.
