Abstract
From the first contacts between Spain and Japan, one of the facets that has most attracted the attention of the land
of the rising sun is everything related to the warrior nobility or samurai class. In this article we will analyze the Japanese
swords present in the public collections of the Basque Country. This scientific investigation supposes a pioneering and reasoned study on these pieces, based on the most recent publications in the field of Japanese weapons, incorporating previously unpublished translations.
