Abstract
This paper analyzes the etymology of 25 toponyms collected in the south part of the
Basque Country. From the study of the structure of names, if the given etymologies are
correct, all the toponyms are of anthroponomical origin. The most of the personal names
is known, but others are reconstructed from the toponyms. Also, the elements united to the
anthroponyms are analyzed, suffixes principally.
