This text aims to reflect linguistic integration demonstrated by immigran­ts arriving in Basque society over the last few years. After covering the concept of linguistic integration, the authors will centre on the behaviour of adult immigran­ts regarding the two languages in the receiver society. Then they will focus on immigrant children's relationship with the Basque language, taking into account the role that the school plays in this area and the obstacles that these children face when learning local languages. Finally, they make a series of proposals —directed above all at the administration— to tackle these obstacles and make this learning easier.
