Abstract

Whilst the previous article («Gau gorri pelotari, goiz gorri errotari», Tantak 34) covered the study of the word GORRI giving the different chromatic meanings which it can adopt, this second article aims to demonstrate the presence of other meanings: naked, peeled, raw, atrocious, terrible, hard, cruel, vengeful, laborious, full, incarnated, extreme, sinister, unfortunate, devil, communist… Their use is also included in idioms and their sometimes symbolic meaning is shown.

Far from finishing off this work, the possibility is discussed of looking at the matter in further depth and a call for attention is made to the urgency to run similar studies demonstrating the Basque perception of reality, which is suggested in the very title of the article.
