Abstract

This study examines the perception that university students have of the violence broadcast in audiovisual fiction. The sample is composed of 230 students of the Journalism degree at the University of Malaga. The methodology used is an online questionnaire of closed questions based on simple random sampling. The results indicate that the participants lack media skills to critically analyse violent fictional content. The conclusion is that there is a need to reinforce the media training of the students so that they have a greater capacity for analysis and thus minimise its impact and influence.
