Danilo Martuccelli

Abstract

The paper aims to show the interest of social theory for sociological practice. Through a critical look at what has been the cardinal problem of sociology —the social order—, we will try to show the promise of a perspective that puts the origin of sociological work in the irrepressible nature of action. The article develops the theoretical consequences of some of the implications of this conceptualization and how it makes possible to renew the analysis of certain sociological problems (those of action and social positions).
