During the XVIII century Basque religious rhetoric was florishing. Among all the preaches of that century, Kardaberaz was the most popular one; but, as many writers confirm, Father Mendiburu happens to be the best one, due to his wonderful use of basque language, full of tichness and elegance; not doubt that Mendiburu executed his sermons with care. These matters have been studied largely, so our purpose is to give more importance to the mentality we can observe within those sermons. We have looked for the influence of classical tradition on those sermons.
