Resumen

La reducción del impacto medioambiental de un producto o de su proceso de fabricación no necesariamente constituye una limitación a la actividad empresarial, sino puede, asimismo, representar una oportunidad estratégica en el marco de una gestión de marcas ecológica. El posicionamiento ecológico se presenta como una herramienta estratégica fundamental para la implementación activa de marcas sostenibles. En el estudio empírico se observa la formación de actitudes más favorables hacia una marca posicionada por sus atributos ecológicos. Más aun, se presentan efectos diferenciados en función de las distintas modalidades de su posicionamiento ecológico. A pesar de que gran parte de los autores en el ámbito del marketing ecológico recomienda una argumentación racional en la comercialización de marcas ecológicas, en el caso concreto del estudio, el efecto del componente emocional del posicionamiento ecológico resulta incluso mayor que el efecto aislado de la percepción racional de los beneficios funcionales de la marca para el medio ambiente.
