"Praenestini" in "Aquileia": on the mobility of "gentes" and cults in Republican era

Abstract

New cults spread along with the process of colonization of Cisalpine Gaul, and can be observed already in the first colonial foundations of the 3rd and 2nd centuries BC. The colonists which participated in the deduction happened in Aquileia in 181 BC and in the supplement happened in 169 BC came from Roman, Latin and Italic families, and it is generally accepted that most of the colonists of Aquileia have a Central Italic origin. In this paper we focus on the families of Prenestinian origin who came at Aquileia and specially in the religious practices that they brought with them.
