Abstract

Aristophanes is an author who shows a special liking for wine in his works. He makes numerous and varied mentions of it, connecting wine with celebration and feast. We can particularly comment on some metaphorical uses of the narrow relationship between wine and peace. Even peace can be identified, to a certain extent, with wine. That is the case of a passage of Aristophanes (Acharnians, 186-200) where different truce proposals are present as if they were wines from different vintages that the protagonist must taste.
