Abstract
Based on the proposals put forward by Durand's Myth Criticism (2003), in this article I will study an aspect in depth which, in terms of Trachiniae, has been debated by critics, such as the possibility of certain premeditation on the part of Deyanira, who sent Herakles the robe impregnated with deadly blood from the centaur Nessus. In order to approach the metamorphic nature of mythical discourse and analyze the rhetorical and stylistic aspects of this tragedy, I will pay particular attention to two odes by Bacchylides, contemporaries from the time of production of Trachiniae, which contain this mytheme.
