Abstract
The scientific "rediscovery" of the original manuscript of the Antigüedades by Ambrosio de Morales has allowed to compare this text with the printed version, and assess the degree of accuracy of the author in the transcription of the Roman inscriptions. We now know that Morales did not respect the graphical structure of the texts nor was careful in drawing the type of monuments. Despite this, his profound knowledge of Latin gives his "Antiquities" great value as a source for the study of Roman inscriptions of Hispania.
