Abstract

This article is an approach to the classical period of Argentine cinema inquiring into local adaptation of the Institutional Mode of Representation, through the study of six films from three paradigmatic filmmakers of that period: Lucas Demare, Mario Soffici and Hugo Del Carril. Without losing sight of the context and historical perspective, we introduce a formal analysis: examines the narrative structure, character systems and enunciation processes to determine how these films reproduced the hegemonic canon of international cinema, what were the local variations and to what degree were produced ruptures that prefigured later developments.
