Abstract
The artwork 'Go-go dancing platform' (1991) created by Félix González-Torres leads us to think about some issues present not only in contemporary art, but also in today's society. By creating an artwork in which dance is the main subject, the artist addresses issues about the stereotypes created around masculine identity (and, especially, about the gay community), making the viewers think about them. Moreover, it brings up an analysis about the display of the artwork, because it breaks the barriers created inside the white cube in which contemporary art museums have become in the last few decades.
