Abstract

Most of the electric power transmission system uses AC to deliver power, but HVDC (high-voltage direct current) is becoming a very important alternative for very log distance power delivery, oshore transmission systems and underground cable systems. HVDC will play a major role in the integration of renewable energy in the electric power system.
