Abstract

Observation and understanding of biochemical processes has inspired the researcher to find simple organic molecules that resemble the mechanism of action of certain enzymes. The 2021 Nobel Prize in Chemistry recognizes the development of organocatalysis which is based on biomimetics, but incomparison with enzime precursors organocatalysts have advantages, showing improved selectivity and specificity.
