Abstract
We report a Pd-catalyzed directed C–H acetylation of a collection of relevant phenol-containing compounds with ethanol as chemical feedstock. This tagging technique is distinguished by its water compatibility, predictable regioselectivity and features the modification of intricate phenols, including tyrosine-containing peptides, estrogens and other top-selling pharmaceuticals.
