Abstract
Starting from the historical memory that goes back to the 19th century, the Basque farm in Guipúzcoa becomes a model of single family farming exploitation with specific features which stand out because of its autonomy and capacity of adaptation in different circumstances, within a very austere and balanced way of life which explains its long duration. It is also the base of the Basque culture with a specific idiosyncrasy, with a conception of the human being and the world fully humanistic, as was pointed out by Don José Miguel de Barandiarán.
