Abstract
This work analyses two passages from two Flavian epic poets, Silius Italicus and Statius (Sil. 15.18-120 and Stat. Th.11.457-473), in which personificated allegories are represented as characters in the story, Virtus and Voluptas in Silius and Pietas in Statius. The study aims to discover how these characters are constructed, mainly in the light of the quellenforschung, but trying specially to explain the reasons that justify these precise adaptations of different Greek and Latin models.
