Abstract
The 1960's can be considered as the begining of three researches. Firstly, the research on the concept of public space. Secondly, is in this decade when artists start to leave the white cube as exhibition place. The gallery's works started to find a place in the streets, squares, parks and institutional and corporate buildings. Thirdly, in the same decade an art originates in permanent dialogue with the new values and needs of the people and the public, all related with creation. A decade that can be seen as the starting point to try to understand how the public space has been constructed, as a concept at the same time as a physical space.
