Abstract
This article analyses and presents some reflections based on the photographic project «The oldest living things in the world» by American artist Rachel Sussman, which focuses on generating an archive of the planet's oldest organisms. Through examining the relationship of this work with scientific knowledge and its constant evolution, this research addresses how artistic practices working with images can contribute to generating new ways of feeling-thinking in viewers, thus leading to new behaviours in a socio-political context where imaginations play a fundamental role. In summary, this investigation explores the potential of art to affirm and celebrate life, an interconnected, interdependent, and multispecies life, thus moving away from considering nature as a resource to be exploited or dominated.
