Abstract
Energy retrofits in social housing. Analysis of its thermal behaviour" PhD Thesis deals with the evaluation of energy renovations in buildings, facing the different parts involved in that process, such as data acquisition and monitoring, data treatment and analysis of obtained results. With this aim in mind, the experimental part includes two different monitoring studies: one of them, a long-term monitoring of 10 occupied dwellings; the other, more in detail, is a detailed monitoring of a representative dwelling. In the second case, the dwelling was empty during the study and more than 60 temperature sensors were used. Afterwards, the treatment of the data obtained from this experimental part is carried out mainly using two kinds of simulation models. Finally, the last part of this PhD thesis is focused on the simulation design and evaluation of results obtained from the above mentioned simulations, and the usefulness of the exergy approach in the assessment of buildings energy performance is evaluated in the last chapter of the thesis
