Abstract
The author has edited a manuscript in which Cejador criticises the etymological criteria of Arturo Campion, accusing him of trying to use Indo-European phonetics to explain the phonetics of Basque; Cejador opposes any comparison between Basque and the Indo-European languages, holding that Basque etymology has to be approached through the supposedly unchangeable Basque language itself (this must be understood as following the ideas of Astarloa).
By way of an introduction to the manuscript, the author gives a summary of the life and works of Cejador, so as to allow the reader to reach as full an understanding as possible of this writer of his linguistic ideas in general.
