Abstract

In this paper, we propose to present a new reading and translation of a fragmentary Latin inscription from Mérida, which contains a first part in prose and a second part in smaller letters as a carmen. Although the preserved letters are elegant and relatively easy to read, the difficulty lies in resolving the various gaps. Through careful observation of the letters, we believe we can offer a new reading, which is not definitive but more in line with reality.
