Abstract
In the phrase hac vita (Cat. 107, 7-8), which means «la fiamma di cui stiamo parlando», «this lover of yours», the demonstrative adjective hac is equivalent to ista (the said equivalence is common in the oratio recta, and attested in Cat. 24, 5 ff.) and denotes Lesbia's absent lover, i.e. Catullus.
