Abstract

In the work Inhabit memory, build the footprint made in Sasamón, Burgos, we started from the idea of reconstruction using light and sound from the old church of the town of San Miguel de Mazarreros, currently disappeared. Where only the imposing arch of the church of the same name becomes the only vestige of this ancient settlement. Through this soundscape and the drawing of the plant with fluorescent lines, the attendees actively participated, managing to inhabit an already forgotten space, where an enveloping magic was generated towards the more than 200 neighbors who gathered in a field of wheat. It touched on a common imaginary where the old town came to life again and problems as current in the intervened area as depopulation or deterioration of heritage were revealed. Unlike the first work that we have presented, this intervention would be more related to our field. Field understood as an expanded discipline where sculpture and installation would come into play. Here the sound element is added as a relational part to the object or intervention and allows us to try to understand how these elements interact (both sound and visual) and how they unfold in space and time. By adding these two elements, we inevitably create a connection between the sense of sight and that of hearing.
