Resumen
This paper studies the written performance of social networks (Instagram, Facebook) from a phonetic and phonological point of view, based on data gathered for the Gaztesare corpus, which was created for the description and analysis of different linguistic aspects used in social networks. Spoken language is the most common and direct source of data used in phonetic and phonological studies, whereas written sources are not so usual. However, the study presented here takes into account the written source to analyze the language used by young. The main goal is to present the most significant features of speech in online social media platforms, written social networks, and how these features are reflected in the Gaztesare database.
