Abstract
The Internet network has changed from being a place of emancipatory possibilities which allowed the emergency of independent spaces, to a space that is highly regulated by big companies. This transformation has also affected those art practices related to the Internet, which have evolved from exploring the potential of the net as a means of creation and as a resistance area, to reflect on the net itself and its mechanisms. From a study case, this article analyzes the plausibility of dissidence of the artistic practices from the current environment of the Internet and Google's commercial tools, more specifically the service Google Street View.
