La localización espacial del mundo: Cambio de paradigma y de representación mediante el dibujo

Abstract

This text reflects upon the relationship between fiction and consensus in the production of scientific knowledge through representation. Using as an example the ways in which the cosmos was depicted before and after the scientific revolution—which, according to Alexander Koyré, brought about a paradigm shift in thought and, in turn, a change in perspective regarding the construction of the cosmos and the role of the Earth—we analyze the means by which this shift came to be accepted as scientific truth drawing on images of the Universe from the history of science. The emergence of what is not yet visible depends on the framework of knowledge that drawings generate. We will analyze here how these drawings are transformed into cognitive objects and how these, in turn, become forms of evidence (in their performative phase), which enable the construction of models of reality that ultimately constitute knowledge.
