Abstract
A series of circumstances that are connected to each other (the recovery of the historical memory of the teacher of the Burgos village of Bañuelos de Bureba Antoni Benaiges i Nogués, murdered in July 1936, the existence of some "cuadernillos" that the Benaiges family it was kept as the treasure of his uncle, and that reflected the life of the Bañuelos school, witnesses of the pedagogical work that was carried out in it - the Freinet pedagogy - and, finally, the excavations of the common fossas in the mountains of La Pedraja carried out by scientists from the Aranzadi Science Society make a group of people create the Asociación Escuela Benaiges-Bañuelos de Bureba to recover the building of the old public school, reactivate the socio-cultural activity related to education and, Third, promote cultural activities in Bañuelos de Bureba.
