Abstract
The photograph depictsa group of boys and girls from the Dobres school proudly celebrate their Christmas function, dedicated to parents and neighbors. At 936 meters above sea level, it was the highest school in Cantabria. The absences of the students are highlighted. The school, built in 1952 by the villagers themselves, reflects life in an isolated village. Despite the scarcity of resources and difficult conditions, children strive to learn and participate in cultural performances. Through anecdotes and reflections, the importance of education in a rural environment is emphasized, sharing gratitude for the experience.
