Abstract

This research aims to show the implications for sociological thought resulting from the assumption of the notion of inmanent transcendente. In this regard, we examine how Michel Maffesoli's sociological contribution will aim to serve as a essential contribution to the understanding of the relocation of the sacred in modern societies. To this end, this autor relies, in one hand, on a particular reading of Durkheim's thought; and, on the other hand, will explore all sociological possibilities hidden in that reading in order to reformulate the relationship between religion and politics in the contemporary wolrd.
