Abstract

This experimental text shows successively the memories of sewing and the reflections on sewing. It’s written in Basque and Spanish to reflect the author’s diglosic reality and create a garment that symbolizes a life with textile remains that can be anyone’s here and now. From words, experiences will break down and settle in a complex culture and community. From childhood to adulthood, thread and needle represent the construction of femininity and its cracks. It will also investigate the transmission of certain family traditions. In the interior of the house and in the schools, the representation of this art, considered as female knowledge, and the myths that have been constructed in literature, music, and dance. Lastly, this essay shall be closed in connection with readings relating to the subject.
