About the Journal

  1. AIMS AND SCOPE
    The "Revista de Derecho y Genoma Humano. Genética, Biotecnología y Medicina Avanzada / Law and the Human Genome Review. Genetics, Biotechnology and Advanced Medicine" publishes works by qualified specialists from national and foreign research centres and professionals of recognized prestige, who contribute their reflections and points of view on the legal issues raised by human genetics, biotechnology and advanced medicine, guaranteeing the essential freedom of thought and plurality of approaches and ideas under a multidisciplinary approach, with a solid scientific and biotechnological, ethical-philosophical, humanistic and social base.

  2. OJS PUBLICATION SYSTEM AND SECTIONS
    The Journal is published in Open Access and at no cost to the authors. The structure of the journal is that of an issue coinciding with the calendar year in which previously accepted papers are progressively incorporated. The Law and the Human Genome Review has the following sections:
      • Doctrine.
      • Jurisprudence.
      • Bibliography (reviews).
      • Institutional Reports and Regulations.

  3. EDITION
    The Journal is edited by the ‘Chair in Law and the Human Genome Network’. This research network is made up of a group of people who have shared a common trajectory in the framework of the activities of the ‘Chair in Law and the Human Genome’ (founded in Bilbao in 1993) and who are now in different positions in various universities and research centres. The Network is currently coordinated by Iñigo de Miguel Beriain and Pilar Nicolás Jiménez and, logistically, is based at the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU (Bilbao, Spain).
