Abstract

This article examines the potential of expanded drawing as a performative methodology to address the algorithmic governance of public space within the context of the platform city. Drawing is presented as a cognitive and situated device that generates forms of embodied knowledge, articulating experience, perception, and reflection. In the face of the mediation of digital systems that capture and model urban experience, drawing is proposed as a counter-visualization tool capable of revealing invisible dynamics. Through the analysis of situated practices in the Cabanyal neighborhood and the mediatized environment of Times Square, existing tensions between experience and algorithmic abstraction are identified.
