Abstract
This monographic issue of Papeles del CEIC, under the title «Empty Spain, Empty Spain: the identity and symbolic dimensions of the peripheral regions», responds to the interest that issues linked to territorial debates have been gaining, with derivatives in different areas, from identity to material issues, including the role of public policies themselves, as well as the construction of narratives and discourses linked to the territories. The issue presents contributions by Manuel Ahedo, Jaime Escribano Pizarro, Jaume Pla-Bañuls and Néstor Vercher Savall, Álvaro Sánchez-García and María Delgado-García, Enric Castelló, Ángel Martín Gómez, Natalia Arcajo Fuentes, Israel Gómez Rodilla and Sara Galindo Pérez, and Sofía Moreno-Domínguez, to which is added —in the Critical Papers section— the work of Nahir Valentina Jiménez Rojas.
