Resumen

En 2016 la productora audiovisual alemana, funk, comenzó una nueva serie semanal de cortometrajes llamada Germania. La serie fue creada con la intención de explorar la identidad y la realidad que viven los alemanes de origen inmigrante. Aunque una de cada cinco personas en Alemania declara hoy en día ser de origen inmigrante, el interés de esta serie no es participar en el debate en torno a la inmigración que ocupa una gran parte del discurso de la política pública desde 2015, sino hacer constar el hecho de que Alemania ha sido durante mucho tiempo un país de inmigración y que hoy día continúa siendo una sociedad multicultural. Cada video, con una duración de entre 5 a 15 minutos, retrata a un/a personaje joven famoso/a que expone en primera persona su concepto de identidad, su historia familiar, resalta las ciudades que le han formado e impactado, y explica su visión personal sobre Alemania. La serie evita utilizar la forma tradicional del documental exclusivamente y se decanta por incorporar los medios digitales y una estética YouTube o TikTok. Este artículo explorará una selección de los videos y analizará el concepto de identidad alemana que en ellos se transmite, vinculando este aspecto a la elección de un formato visual que sintetiza elementos del documental tradicional con la estética de los medios digitales.
