Abstract

In order to carry out a general analysis of the Basque spelling, in this article we intend to highlight the relevance of taking into account the variable of the printing office. We first expound the importance of the topic (§ 1), while presenting a proposal to the study of spelling from the point of view of printing houses (§ 2): we want to propose an analysis of the texts published during the Labourdin classical literature period and, to this end, we will bring a list of the (known) editions of books from that time and area, specifying the printing office of each one (§ 3). Finally, we will expose the links between printing and spelling with examples: we will describe the graphic differences between the texts make from the workshops of Millanges and de la Court, both printers of Bordeaux (§ 4).
